January Newsletter Unsubscribe List Preview

Sometimes no matter how hard you wish for it and as much as you want it, certain email “designs” just isn’t going to get better. I have high hopes when I subscribe to each and every single company’s email newsletter, holding my breath for visual explosions into arrive my inbox… or least something that will make me want to click on something and spend money. The following, not so much…

1. Cartier – I was surprised their email designs were flat and unimaginative, being that they’re one of the top luxury jewelry and watch brands in the world. Perhaps their email designer should subscribe to Tiffany’s email newsletters and see what gorgeous email design can looks like.

2. Ralphs – There are HUGE differences between print and web, and good email designers should know what they are. If consumers already skip reading the printed supermarket weekly ads that comes in my real life mailbox (I suppose can only say this from my own experiences and EVERYONE ELSE in my apartment building), what makes the marketing department at Ralphs think I want to see it again in my virtual inbox?

3. 99 Cent Only Store – As bad as Ralph’s, except only worse. Doesn’t include the essential “view in browser” link & also, WHY SO BLURRY?? Someone ditched class the day we went over “Save For Web” in Photoshop.

4. Overstock.com – Overstock actually doesn’t design “bad” emails, they’re simply boring and predictable. Also, cropping at the neck looks like decapitation. This appears in quite a few of their emails. Try cropping right under the nose, much cuter.

That’s all for my January unsubscribes, folks. Any ugly emails in your inbox? Please do share below…

Hello, I believe your blog might be having web browser compatibility problems.
Whenever I take a look at your web site in Safari,
it looks fine however, if opening in I.E., it’s got some overlapping issues.
I simply wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other than that, fantastic blog!
